Roster Changes
The Boston Celtics have made several roster moves in preparation for the 2023-24 NBA season. The most notable addition is point guard Malcolm Brogdon, who was acquired from the Indiana Pacers in a trade. Brogdon is a proven scorer and playmaker, and he is expected to play a major role for the Celtics this season. Other additions include center Mike Muscala, who was signed as a free agent, and forward Justin Jackson, who was acquired in a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Celtics also made some subtractions from their roster. Forward Danilo Gallinari was traded to the Atlanta Hawks, and guard Dennis Schroder was not re-signed. Gallinari is a veteran scorer who can stretch the floor, while Schroder is a quick and athletic point guard who can provide scoring and defense. The Celtics are hoping that the addition of Brogdon and Muscala will offset the loss of Gallinari and Schroder.
